Our approach
Nuts and May exists and is able to offer its service due to an agreement between myself and my employer that allows me to operate in my "spare time" as long as my day job is not compromised and their is no conflict of interest.
This allows me to maintain a wide range of skills that are not always used in my day job as well as bringing a range of experience and viewpoints from other organisation into my working practices.
Due to this agreement, all contracts are entered into with a clear understanding that the work will be completed in evenings and weekends. If any daytime engagements ever take place, these are always taken out of my holiday allowance. It is only due to this open and transparent way of working, that I have been able to operate for over a decade.
Whilst this approach may appear restrictive, it does mean that "normal" day rates don't apply and therefore most companies who commission work from me are surprised at how low the rates are compared to to those offered by normal market forces.
All of my work is underpinned by a full Terms Of Reference and where the size of the project demand's it, Prince 2 processes and the associated documents (such as highlight reports etc) are included in the pricing.
