Disability Awareness

This course was originally commissioned by Flintshire Childrens Services to give new foster carers with no experience of working with children with disabilities an introduction into some of the social and communicative challenges they may encounter on a day to day basis.

Based around the social vs medical model of disability, this lively and interactive course has been used a number of times with very positive feedback from the attendees.

The course was commissioned by Flintshire with full intellectual property rights being transferred upon its completion, allowing them to run the course with their own teams when appropriate.

By using experienced foster carers with skills in the development and delivery of training curses, Nuts and May has the skills to develop bespoke training courses relating to the care of young looked after children and can also work with you to create awareness session around subjects such as safer caring and specifically matters relating to disability.
